In St. Mary’s on the Hill some of our children have the wonderful opportunity to start the day within our school Nurture group. This group helps students transition from home to school. We do a check -in, share news and have a snack. We then complete an activity and do a relaxing mindfulness activity before beginning the day’s learning in the classrooms.

Throughout the day students come to the Support Room to develop and practise their Social, Emotional and Behavioural skills. The sessions also help students learn about their emotions and develop self – regulation skills, helping empower our students. Each session is individual to cater for the student’s individual needs.

On Fridays we do ‘Friday activity’. This involves students from different classes coming together to practise the skills learnt during the week. These activities include Art and Crafts, Baking, Science, Mindfulness and outdoor activities.
